When You Gotta Go …

LYFT Chronicles 200220 – Met several interesting people on the road today! An architect, a track coach, and a pilot among them. My last ride was for 5 young women who had “been drinking since 11am to celebrate one of their birthdays.” They came out of the motel one at a time and the last one cried plaintively that she had forgotten her phone. She ran back in to look for it and one by one each of the other four trailed after her after the one who scheduled the ride checked to see if I would wait.
“Of course, I’m here to serve you.”
Getting into the car was an adventure as two of them opted to crawl into the third row seat … expressing concern that they might split their jeans in the process.
“Heaven forbid!”
Once underway, the ride scheduler noted my Navy veteran cap and thanked me for my service, apologizing again for the rowdiness of her companions who were generally screaming and hollering back and forth …and in my ear.
My greatest concern was with one of the gals in the back seat who said a couple of times during the ride, “I have to pee” … “Is there a place we can stop” … Is there something I can pee into?
“I think I’ll be aggressive with this yellow light”
Again, the ride initiator apologized … and they all piled out once we reached the destination ….
“Was that a rip I heard?”
