Encouragement

The Master of Making Something of a Mess!

Chapter 1 of Matthew’s Gospel presents the genealogy of Jesus in three segments, each of them 14 generations in length. It is rather striking to see some of those who were included in that genealogy. There was the adulteress, Tamar and Rahab the prostitute. Ruth, who was not a Jew, but a Moabite, and Solomon who was David’s son as a result of an adulterous affair. The fact that such as these are enshrined in the inspired record of Jesus’ ancestry suggests to me … and you … that God is able to use even sinful persons to further His purposes and accomplish His will.

Be encouraged by that because it means that regardless of your past, or how messed up life may be for you today … God can still use you and do something wonderful in and through your life if you will allow Him to. Isn’t that a great thing? I think so!
