COVID CONFINEMENT

After thumbing my nose at the infamous International illness known by many names I was finally caught…or did I catch it? I noticed a sore throat on Saturday evening and didn’t think much about it. I did, however, alert the folks where I was expected to preach on Sunday morning that I was unlikely to be able to serve. Sunday morning came and, while the sore throat was gone, I felt the symptoms reminiscent of the sinus infections of the past. I haven’t had one in a very long time but the post nasal drip, congestion, cough, achiness and general feeling of malaise; very flu-like. My girlfriend went for some COVID test kits and discovered that they were FREE at WalMart. Apparently our insurance pays for them! Who knew? I tested negative. By Monday morning, I was feeling much worse and made my way to the clinic where they tested me again…positive this time! So I was given some antiviral medication (ALSO FREE) and told to quarantine for 5 days and afterward wear a mask for 5 days longer. Thankfully, as of this writing, the symptoms have not advanced from what they were on Monday. I’ve avoided any fever and actually feel a bit better today. Thus far, the culprit has not encroached on the defenses of my girlfriend.
