Random Musings of a LYFT Driver
April 23, 2020
- Teens and early 20’s people don’t know how to dress for the very cold weather (no jacket, no gloves, no hat).
- Older folk don’t know how to dress for the very cold weather (pajamas and boots with hats but light jackets.
- Even in a spacious SUV there is not sufficient room for some folks.
- Multiple people for whom there is not sufficient room will seriously test the suspension.
- The revelation of the fact that the driver is a Pastor is an effective way create a quiet hush in cases where one’s rowdy and profanity spewing passengers are under the influence of alcohol.
- There is ample opportunity to provide a LIFT to many people while being a LYFT driver.
- Those who laid out the grid of streets in portions of Dubuque must have been geometrically challenged.
- Those who made the rules allowing parking all the way to the corners on narrow roads were never LYFT drivers.
- There are a lot of interesting people out there!
- Being a LYFT driver is a lot like being a combination of a pastor and a bartender
- Seeing a person walking down the street at 5am in a full bunny suit is on a par with seeing a high school track team running in the rain with one of them holding an open umbrella.
- There are far more TRUMP supporters, who voluntarily offer that information, than one might suppose.
- Driving before dawn, while the city still sleeps, is good therapy.
- There are a lot of people out there who need Christ!

January 15, 2020 at 7:07 pmI’m enjoying imagining it mental image of you as a Pastor/Bartender! The one pastor I once knew who who moonlighted as a bartender was an interesting person.

January 16, 2020 at 10:42 amI don’t know about the mental image … but I’m sure you have been in situations which placed you in a similar role! One does not serve the Lord and His people for as Longgggggg as YOU have without those experiences! 😉
