The Ever Present Jeske’s Law
March 12, 2024
The name for this blog originated with the idea that my life is under God’s watchful eye while He sometimes allows me to live in the realm of Jeske’s Law. You’ve heard of Murphy’s Law? (if not, look it up). Well Jeske’s Law is simple: “Murphy was an optimist”, The corollary to that is: “Nothin’s ever easy!”.
Well, we entered into that realm again today after what we thought was a relatively positive visit with the oncologist, in spite of the fact that my infusion was delayed a week.
I should have known that a shoe was left hanging when the Doc told me that all the blood test results that she had received “so far” were good. Well the shoe dropped about an hour after I got home. It seems as though the test result she did not have back yet contained an indication of an overactive thyroid. Isn’t that wonderful? It DOES explain some of the rather concerning symptoms of weakness, significant fatigue and tiredness. We might as well strum all the notes which comprise the chord of my life. Now, this something they watch for with immunotherapy patients because it is prone to happen. Nevertheless, it calls for an exam by an endocrinologist. Surgeon, Cardiologist, Oncologist, Neurologist and Endocrinologist, (Team SCONE; yum yumm) My surgeon told me that he doesn’t like to do surgery unless he has to). Upon further reflection I wondered how to take that statement. If we all approached our work like that what a different world it would be. Perhaps our politicians could take the lead in such a movement? …. Fat Chance.
So, bottom line is we have another layer of this onion known as Tim Jeske. We wait for the call to set up an appointment with the endocrinologist so that we can see how thick this layer may be.
Please keep praying! We need … and appreciate it!
