The Journey

Win Some … Lose Some … Some Get Rained Out

But you gotta get dressed for them all!

Went to get my second infusion today. Got my arm stuck by the needle while the technician took about a pint of blood (at least it seemed like that!) and then sat down, with a grocery list of questions, to await the appt. with the oncologist.

Long story short; No infusion today. Due to last week’s stint in the hospital and the regimen of anti-biotics I’ve been on and the consequent side effects of that whole episode in my journey, the Dr. was averse to doing the infusion today until the course of anti-biotics and other medications was fulfilled and I had my follow up appointment with the Surgeon. Her preference would be to have me free off all of those meds and cleared by the Surgeon. She doesn’t want “to get in his way”.

So … I see him on the 19th (one week from now) and we have optimistically scheduled my appt for my next infusion for then … delaying it by one week. The tech who took my blood apparently did not drink it, but gave it to someone with a calling to look at blood. My bloodwork was all GOOD!

We are praying for these Doctors and trusting God to guide them in their decisions … so we patiently wait(something everyone who is sick is forced to do as a patient),

I’ll be glad to be rid of all these side effects and stay awake for more than an hour or two at a time, schedule my visits to the loo instead of “dropping in when the least convenient”, keep from tottering around the house and just feel like a human instead of a blob with a bozo haircut.

Keep praying friends!
