Party Time

‘Twas a little more of a difficult night last night here. I knew from the moment I got in bed and my surgery leg started “jumping” and “twitching” with a slight burning sensation. It was my first night without gabapentin (for nerve pain). I didn’t make the connection at first, thinking that I was going to have some leg cramps … so … if you have ever tried to get out of bed and stand up to stretch a cramping calf or thigh muscle, you will understand why I wanted to get out of bed before it happened. I slept in the recliner. It’s easier to slide out of a recliner than it is to sit up on the side of the bed and stand up when feels like you are giving birth out of your calf or thigh. Actually, have no experience with that and I can only imagine! 😉.

I spent a fair amount of time walking with the cane today … a signal that I’m improving!
My girlfriend leaves me tomorrow for about 12 hours. She’s going about 70 miles away to do a vendor show. She sells NORWEX cleaning products. She’s out the door at 5:30 am and will be back in the late afternoon. So … IT’S PARTY TIME AT MY HOUSE TO CELEBRATE MY PROGRESS!!!!!!!!! I’ll break out the BBQ and we’ll have the badminton net up with some cornhole boards and horse shoes.

Shhhhh! Don’t tell the girlfriend! She doesn’t want me doing anything stupid while she is gone … I can’t even use the cane without her being here!
