Moving … Well, sorta…
November 12, 2020
There is so much about what Facebook and Twitter have become in the social media arena that I need not explain it all here. You know it already, but if you don’t, you can certainly find it easily. Bottom line is that I’m fed up with it and have been looking for something different.
I looked at Parler (www.parler.com) and found that it is much like Twitter. I never used Twitter much anyway so, after looking at it and poking around I’ve decided I probably wouldn’t use it any more than I used Twitter in the past.
I did find MeWe (www.mewe.com) to be a suitable replacement for Facebook, however and have decided to establish a new social media home there. I’m not leaving FB abruptly … I have over 1200 “friends” there and want to keep tabs on some of them who may still feel comfortable with FB. I will not, however, be checking or posting as often as in the past. Eventually I will pull the plug on FB but not sure I can say how long that will take.
And that brings me to what to do with “The Old Sew ‘n Sew“. It would appear as though MeWe does not have all the features that are convenient for making a business page and selling that FB has. I hope that one day it might, but in the meantime I’m going to create a business page on MeWe and will have to rely more heavily on my efforts to promote this webpage and drive clients to it.
My girlfriend will also be moving gradually to MeWe and will, over time, do something similar with her Norwex page.
Stay tuned ….
You can find us on MeWe; just search for Tim Jeske (me) and Linda Jeske (my girlfriend).
