Preparing for the arrival of Hairy Potter
April 23, 2020
Linda and I have been deep cleaning the house and spraying everything with odor neutralizer from NORWEX in the process. Hairy Potter is coming home with us on Sunday and we want him to be as comfortable as possible when he arrives. Having him walking around with the scents and odors that Noelle left here and there would be bothersome to him … we don’t want him looking for that phantom female cat around every corner!!!
I had thought that we would be able to bring him home in a soft side cat carrier but the more I looked at his picture … and then at the carrier we got … the more I was skeptical about our ability to contain him in it. So, I measured it and asked the shelter lady whether he would fit. She said, “he’s already big and Maine Coon cats will continue to grow through their second year. Better get a bigger one”. So off to PetSmart and we exchanged it for a hard shell carrier made for a medium sized dog!!! It should do the job. If he doesn’t fit in that, I’ll let him drive home from South Amana!!! When I told the shelter lady that she responded by assuring me that Hairy could probably drive better than a lot of people she sees on the roads! That’s comforting!!!
While he was named Harry by the shelter we are going to call him Hairy Potter!
We are excited and looking forward to welcoming him home!!!
