A No Sew Day
May 17, 2019
For the first time in quite a while, my sewing machine was not turned on at all today. I did, however make a mess of the floor by cutting fabric for nearly 50 of the new zippered pouches/travel/cosmetic bags. And then I cut 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5″ squares from piles of small remnants that have begun to over-run my storage bins. I don’t know if I’ll ever use those squares … but they do look nice in their neat little stacks 😉 I suspect that a cleaning fairy will come by and clean that floor 😉
I did spend considerable time at the clinic today with the Physical Therapist who is going to help me address my “tech neck” which has reduced my range of motion significantly. Her assignment list for home routines is fairly rigorous and will require discipline. The hardest thing for me will be the prohibition on sitting in my recliner with the laptop on my lap (Isn’t that what laptops are for?). Apparently there is no way to have proper posture and position for the neck when doing so and that is part of the reason I have the problem I have … that and untold hours of using the laptop on a desk without a monitor that is up at eye level.
