Lights, Camera … Action!
April 12, 2016
I spent a good part of the day yesterday setting up four video cameras in the TJWebMedia studio along with a video mixer and other associated equipment. I’m in the process of running some experiments with a couple of options for live-streaming on the internet. I’ll be live-streaming from the IFCA International Annual Convention in Springfield IL this coming June and I’m deciding what service to use for that event.
I must say that I was surprised and impressed with Youtube’s platform. The user interface is simple and straightforward. In spite of the fact that I had never even looked at Youtube before yesterday, I found that it took me much longer to set up my equipment than it did configure the Youtube and have a quality feed streaming on the internet. There is one small flaw that I discovered. Apparently I cannot create a static URL and have that serve as the connection point for each individual live stream session. There are a few ways to overcome that disadvantage by performing a few additional chores on my end so it’s not a deal breaker.
There are some other services that I’ll be looking at but right now I like the option that Youtube offers!
If you are unable to attend the IFCA International Convention in June, and want to participate by attending on-line, we will be offering that option for you. At a later date I’ll provide details along with a schedule.
I’m excited to be involved in providing this source of encouragement and blessing!
