Life After Death
July 21, 2009
My blog was dead … but now it lives again! I’ve learned a lesson, albeit a little late both figuratively and literally. It was late at night and I was doing some housekeeping (something that I’d be better off letting my honey handle … except that it was my computer that needed it) and I came across 4 or 5 old e-mail accounts that I “never” use. One of them was a gmail account that I didn’t even remember having. That’s the problem with automating your log-ins … you never see what is actually being entered and after three years … who remembers!? Well I thought I was being smart by deleting this old e-mail account … and since it was late, I was tired and perhaps didn’t read the screen very closely. End result: I had deactivated my blog at blogspot.com. The blogspot people were very kind and quick to respond but the deadly deed was done and it was irretrievable. Jeske’s Law was dead … in itself an example of Jeske’s Law at work (“Murphy was an optimist”).
Since I could not establish the blog again with the same name … I determined to wander over here to WordPress and establish it here. I’m not sure how I will signal my readers, however … I know that there were a couple dozen but I have no idea who they were with a few exceptions. Visiting there simply gives a message that says:
Blog has been removed
Sorry, the blog at jeskeslaw.blogspot.com has been removed. This address is not available for new blogs.
That’s like the message “this number is no longer in service”, or “this number has been disconnected”, making you wonder if the poor sap didn’t pay his bill!
Ah well … Jeske’s Law is alive and well again after having suffered a pre-mature death due to carelessness. Hopefully it is a lesson well learned.
Blessings!
